Strawberry Picking

May and June brings a tradition to our family...one the kids look forward to and one Mom makes sure she doesn't miss.  About 2 miles from the lake house is Kohler's Farm, a little piece of goodness.  I love this time and I am so sad when July comes as the fields dry up and off to the grocery store for strawberries we go.

The fourth of July weekend gave us 8 pints of strawberries which allowed us to eat strawberries everyday!  This picking day was so hot, I have never sweated so much in 30 minutes before.  The Spring weather wreaked havoc on the crops causing the strawberries to be quite smaller then the years past but all the flavor was packaged into their smallness and they were so good.
