Baby Aidan

You might remember the beautiful family that graced my blog a few months back, a family of three that is now a family of four...

Aidan joined the Drain family on Thursday, February 17th... a beautiful new baby boy to cherish. The kids and I headed up to the hospital, to snap a few of the 1 day old.

He is beautiful and perfect, baby lust was filling the room as I held him and tried to remember those days when i held my beautiful children...time has flown by! Watching Cait hold him showed me how much as she marvels at babies too...no longer being a baby. As we left, she told me how much she loves babies...fighting back the emotion of hearing her say that because we were both filled with love of a new little one being brought into our lives.

Congrats to Taniesha, Adam and new big brother Austin :-)

"De Nada"

My spanish comes basically from Dora the Explorer and Dora is a very nice girl little girl on Nickelodeon TV who says stuff like gracias, de nada, vamanos and she also knows how to count to like 10. Dora is Spanish so basically she can say a ton of words but she limits it for the 4 and 5 year old...and for the adults who watch this along with their little girls.

So while we were in Mexico, I wanted to blend...who am I kidding I have dark brown hair, brown skin, and brown eyes, every single person spoke to me in Spanish and when I would say "No hablo espanol", they looked at me like what kind of Mexican are you. So I blended alright, but I know only the words that Dora has taught me so I decided the one word I would say to everyone was "de nada" well for one it means your welcome and I believe that to be a very nice thing that you can say to someone when you have no clue of what they are saying to you. It worked well for me and everyone smiled at me...basically laughing at me :-)

We started out our trip in a Mexican dive and thanks to Priceline we spent the last two days of our trip at the Hilton which was amazing. To be honest I could have laid in the sun everyday for 8 hours the weather was so amazing and the warmth from the sun made you dream of a Michigan summer. I love Cancun soooooo much!

Viva la Mexico

Mexico in January...how can you go wrong! Michigan sucks...it is freezing and we haven't seen the sun in months. To spend it with our Louisiana friends, Forest and Ang made it even better. A four day escape in the sun. Cancun is one of my top three favorite places. The locals are friendly, you feel safe, the food is amazing and the ocean is heaven.

The Mayan Ruins were amazing...pictures can not do justice to what we saw. I learned that the world is not going to end in in 2012, it was an honor for you to sacrifice yourself to the Gods and the men competed for the right to sacrifice themselves, I also learned that no woman would sacrifice herself in her right mind so they fed her a cocaine like drug and then threw her into the sinkhole...and lastly that the Mayan civilization was basically wiped out when they killed the four people that knew everything. I also learned that these people are little and Forest and Ang looked like giants next to them...Tony spent the day walking up to everyone of them he could and would look down at them like "Hey". We tried to bring one of the little girls home with us...because she was the best salesperson I have ever seen, definitely would not take "no" for an answer and she was sooooo adorable.
If you get a chance put on your bucket list to go see Chichen Itza...an amazing day!
More pictures from Mexico to follow...

Isle of Capri

Sunday morning drive from West Palm to Naples to spend the day with Heidi, Jeff, Peyton and Beckham...our Michigan/Florida friends. So excited to spend the day with friends that we only share a few days with a year. We spent the day at Isle of Capri where we drank Sangria ate Grouper and seafood chowder. I dug my feet far into the sand, letting the cold water wash over them and picking shells up that would find their way into my suitcase for the ride home.

As the kids played we took pictures, laughed and caught up on the last 6 months since we seen each other. This place was beautiful, quiet and serene exactly what we needed to wind down our trip.
