Tea Party anyone?

Planning a tea party that isn't creepy like Alice in Wonderland but that makes a little girl feel like she has stepped into a fantasy land.  First, the cake (thanks to my Groupon) to Sweet Heather Anne which was perfect...I consantly kept calling it my cake...yes the cake wasn't good to eat but it sure was beautiful!

The cupcakes for the kids since the cake was way too beautiful but with all that fondant...I knew Cait would need some kid food!

What party would be complete without a party hat...but the neat thing about these hats is that we added ribbons and flowers and I made the beautiful women in our life work it for the camera.

The rest of the night was spent just being silly and snapping pics of people we love :-)

Why I became a photographer

I always thought I would be a mother of three, I love babies the way they smell how they look at you and the way a child unconditionally loves you..I stopped at two :-) the reason is simple

I have the two best babies that a Momma could ask for...sometimes you just need to be thankful for the  things right in front of you and not constantly look for what is next...

I have been lucky in life to be blessed with good friends that have beautiful children
Being a photographer has given me a chance to capture the love and beauty of a child, and whenever I do a session like this I know why I started to develop this hidden love of mine
Beautiful Violet, my first 1 year old session on a Saturday in her home amongst all of her toys in a place filled with love :-)
pt
Climbing around on the floor...crawling around the kitchen to capture this :-)
Thank you Mike and Nicole by giving me the opportunity to document this milestone in Violet's life...excited for the new little one that will bless our lives in 7 months

Violet thank you for helping me to see why I become a photographer...

Cenote Diving...What was I thinking

Cenote diving in Mexico...basically breaks down to jumping into a hole, a very dark hole waiting for the lochness monster to come up and eat you.  You can see the water and it looks as blue as the blue grotto in Italy...but then you remember that you are in the middle of the jungle and you are going to close your eyes keep your feet together (pray to God) and jump!  I did it...boy did i do it!  For some reason my body decided to pull up into the fetal position about 20 foot into the 30 foot drop, which basically means the worst belly smacker...butt first :-(  I couldn't find anyone that spoke English to tell me if I was bleeding as I pointed to my butt...I just received the hands over the face OMG look and I knew I had harmed my body.  This pain was unbelievable...crazy unbelievable!
Ang contemplating on why again we decided to do this?
Inside the Centote, we survived hurt butt and all...and yes I am smiling :-)  Mainly because I jumped into a 30 foot hole, overcame my height fear and had the best adrenaline rush I have ever had.
Run Forest Run...No wait Jump Forest Jump

Notice how red my legs are...but not enough to stop ziplining inside the cavern
The fear of walking away is way stronger in me then the fear of actually doing something.  Not
sure if I will ever jump into a hole in the earth again but I am glad I did it :-)

Baby Aidan

You might remember the beautiful family that graced my blog a few months back, a family of three that is now a family of four...

Aidan joined the Drain family on Thursday, February 17th... a beautiful new baby boy to cherish. The kids and I headed up to the hospital, to snap a few of the 1 day old.

He is beautiful and perfect, baby lust was filling the room as I held him and tried to remember those days when i held my beautiful children...time has flown by! Watching Cait hold him showed me how much as she marvels at babies too...no longer being a baby. As we left, she told me how much she loves babies...fighting back the emotion of hearing her say that because we were both filled with love of a new little one being brought into our lives.

Congrats to Taniesha, Adam and new big brother Austin :-)

"De Nada"

My spanish comes basically from Dora the Explorer and Dora is a very nice girl little girl on Nickelodeon TV who says stuff like gracias, de nada, vamanos and she also knows how to count to like 10. Dora is Spanish so basically she can say a ton of words but she limits it for the 4 and 5 year old...and for the adults who watch this along with their little girls.

So while we were in Mexico, I wanted to blend...who am I kidding I have dark brown hair, brown skin, and brown eyes, every single person spoke to me in Spanish and when I would say "No hablo espanol", they looked at me like what kind of Mexican are you. So I blended alright, but I know only the words that Dora has taught me so I decided the one word I would say to everyone was "de nada" well for one it means your welcome and I believe that to be a very nice thing that you can say to someone when you have no clue of what they are saying to you. It worked well for me and everyone smiled at me...basically laughing at me :-)

We started out our trip in a Mexican dive and thanks to Priceline we spent the last two days of our trip at the Hilton which was amazing. To be honest I could have laid in the sun everyday for 8 hours the weather was so amazing and the warmth from the sun made you dream of a Michigan summer. I love Cancun soooooo much!
